Sonic AU musings
I've been on a bit of a Sonic kick recently after replaying SA2B, and it intersected with some other things that came to mind. I'm throwing these disorganized thoughts so I don't lose them and hey, maybe someone else can pick them up.
So Ammeh updated her lovely Dimileth Pern AU and it got me thinking about Pern. I never read all the books and it's been a long long time since I've read any, so I probably couldn't do a very satisfying AU, but it's still fun.
Basically, I think there could be some interesting parallels between the Red Star and the Black Comet - both pass by on a particular frequency, both have malevolent alien species. Between works kind of like Chaos Control, down to the fact that an advanced application is time travel instead of just teleportation. No idea what to do with the plot, but hey, the vibes are there.
I've also been playing a lot of Hades, and I feel that could be an interesting framework for something around Shadow. Him trying to escape the Black Comet and Black Doom to get (back?) to the ARK? Him trying to escape the ARK? Or maybe this could be a take on Sonic Forces Episode Shadow - instead of just one level, an entire ordeal of trying to escape Infinite in his head....?
Probably won't do anything with these, but could be fun.
